Last updated: 15 February 2026

Commitment to accessibility

At AnatomyMaster, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We strive to continually improve the user experience for everyone and to apply relevant accessibility standards and best practices to make our website and mobile applications usable, inclusive, and accessible.

Our goal is to enable all users, including those who rely on assistive technologies, keyboard navigation, voice input, or touch interaction, to access anatomical learning content effectively.

Accessibility features on anatomymaster.com

We have implemented several accessibility features to support users with different needs, including keyboard navigation, voice search, zoom controls, font size adjustment, and touch-based interaction options.

Keyboard navigation

Users can navigate key features of the website using keyboard shortcuts:

  • Alt + M opens the main menu. Once open, users can navigate the menu using the arrow keys and press the Enter key to make a selection.
  • Alt + S opens the search menu. Users can type to search for any anatomical topic, use the arrow keys to scroll through the results, and press the Enter key to select an item.
  • F enables fullscreen mode when viewing images in the image scroller page.
  • Ctrl + + zooms in when viewing anatomical images inside the image scroller. Outside the image scroller, this function increases the font size to improve text readability.
  • Ctrl + − zooms out when viewing anatomical images inside the image scroller. Outside the image scroller, this function decreases the font size.
  • Home key returns the image to its original (home) position when using zoom in or zoom out in the image scroller.

These keyboard shortcuts allow users to access important functionality without requiring a mouse and fully support keyboard-only navigation.

Voice search

Alt + V enables voice search functionality while using the image scroller. This allows users to use voice input to search for descriptions of labelled anatomical structures. The spoken search term will load in the pop-up search box, where the relevant description can be accessed.

Users can press Alt + X to close the voice search.

This feature provides an alternative to typing and supports users who prefer voice interaction or who have mobility or dexterity limitations.

Image viewing accessibility

When viewing anatomical images, users can enter fullscreen mode using the F key. Zoom controls using Ctrl + + and Ctrl + − allow users to enlarge or reduce image size. The Home key allows users to return the image to its original position after zooming. These features help users examine anatomical details more easily and improve accessibility for users with visual impairments.

Mobile and tablet accessibility (Website, iOS, and Android)

AnatomyMaster is designed to be accessible on mobile phones and tablets through both the website and the mobile applications.

  • Finger scrolling is enabled, allowing users to move across anatomical images smoothly using touch gestures.
  • Pinch-to-zoom functionality is enabled, allowing users to zoom in and out using standard multi-touch gestures.
  • Double-tap functionality is enabled to enter fullscreen mode and to exit fullscreen mode when viewing anatomical images.
  • Text zoom controls are available in the top-right menu, allowing users to increase or decrease text size according to their needs.
  • Touch-to-read functionality is available as an alternative interaction method, enabling users to access and read content using touch input.

The same touch navigation, zoom, fullscreen, and accessibility features are also available in the AnatomyMaster iOS and Android mobile applications.

These features support users with visual impairments, motor accessibility needs, and users who rely on touch-based navigation.

Compatibility with assistive technologies

AnatomyMaster is designed to work with modern web browsers and assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice input tools, and built-in accessibility features available on iOS and Android devices.

We aim to ensure compatibility with commonly used accessibility tools and platforms and to follow accessibility best practices where possible.
